Um, yeahhhh...the temperature here in Kansas dropped from 65 to 47 in an hour a half this afternoon, and now it's down to 42. Mother Nature, you are such a bitch.
It's the end of Spring Break for us, next week we resume our regularly scheduled school programming. Although we hadn't planned any Spring Break vacations, we ended up going to St Louis last week to attend a family funeral, on my birthday, no less. But, we made lemonade and stayed an extra day to check out the Gateway Arch, and the City Museum.
If you ever end up taking a vacation to St Louis, and yes I realize it's not on many people's vacation destination short lists, you MUST go to the City Museum. It's all tunnels and caves and tree houses and... I spent most of the afternoon catching only glimpses of my kids every 20 minutes or so as they prairie dogged their little heads out of holes and then dove back in. (parenting note: I am not a helicopter parent. I do not require an eyeball have sight of my kids at all times, even in public places. But if the thought of that makes you a little nervous, this place may not be for you. Because you are too big for some of these little gopher tunnels. I'm just sayin'.)
Anyway, it was a good time. And we've enjoyed a quiet week of decent weather to boot. Although now apparently that is over, we must huddle indoors once again.
