I've been seven weeks without coffee. Seven weeks since I was so sick I never even noticed I hadn't had caffeine for a few days, and decided to just run with it and see what happens. I've been drinking green tea with mint most every morning, because I like having something hot in a coffee cup, that's more the habit part, I suppose. I'll have a Coke or an ice tea here and there during the day, but I haven't noticed it buzzing me like it used to. But I haven't really missed coffee. That is until this weekend, when I finally realized that I've been eating everything in sight and my appetite is huge, all the time, and I thought, huh, caffeine is an appetite suppressant, isn't it? Damn.
I've got to get back into a regular yoga practice. THAT I do miss. Friday morning I went through a partial Ashtanga primary series by myself here at home, but was interrupted several times by my husband calling to talk about financial stuff. People, there are very few things more stressful than talking financial stuff, regardless of what it's really about, and holding an iPhone to your ear while trying to stretch your way through triangle is not the most focused way to practice yoga.
Despite all that, I'm still pretty sore. A basic workout that didn't really push me, and my muscles screamed at me all weekend. I've got to get back into it.
So if I can stay off the coffee, which means less sugar (for me anyway,) and get back into the yoga, and shut my damn pie hole, maybe I can stay in my favorite jeans (thanks to the colonoscopy, of course, for getting me there so quickly.) I don't have a weight goal, I don't even own a scale. I just have clothes I'd like to wear while they are in still in style. Is that so wrong?
PS - How many of you clicked this post thinking I'm announcing I'm seven weeks pregnant? Bwahahahaha! Come on, you can tell me. I didn't set it up that way, promise, but it just occurred to me some people may think it.
PPS - Here's a hint: I may be cutting out the coffee, but I am not cutting out the wine. Just cutting back. Or switching to vodka, it has less calories. Bloody Mary mix has Vitamin C! Whatevs.
