Tuesday, lunchtime-ish. About five inches down, of about 13" total.
Today was Snow Day #2: The Day After. People started digging out, but didn't get very far because the neighborhood streets weren't being plowed until late afternoon. My street still hasn't been plowed, but the main artery through the neighborhood has.
But dig out today we did, the driveway is cleared, and the sun came out. By lunchtime I had decided we needed to get out of the house, so we hopped in my new car, a 2011 Ford Explorer, and let me just tell you, never before in my life has the timing of a large purchase worked out SO WELL. I loved my minivan, but I haven't had 4-wheel drive in eight years. I'd forgotten the glorious power of gunning it through the high drifts of snow that others struggled through. It is an awesome power.
Anyway, we spent a couple of hours burning off some energy at Monkey Bizness open play (Yay for email marketing, it works!), and then out to dinner with my parents. It was nice to get out.
You'd think after two days trapped in the house I'd have gotten more done. I did make a couple of loaves of banana bread, clean the kitchen and fold some laundry, but usually under this kind of trapped boredom I start rearranging furniture, painting and/or reupholstering chairs.
Although, apparently there's still time for that. I just heard we are out of school again tomorrow.
