Remember a few months ago when I told you that Trip insisted on ordering a DVR? Its basically a TiVO, except you rent it from the cable company instead of purchasing and subscribing to it. You can record programs, or movies, or whatever, and you can rewind or pause a show you are watching live, even if you are not actually recording it. Its cool, in a geeky, technology sort of way that fits my husband to a T.
Well, Drew can operate it. He has figured out how to pause his shows so he can go to the potty and come back and not miss anything. This is like the BEST THING EVER to him, considering he has the smallest bladder known to humans. He also has taken to sitting on the couch while watching his shows holding the remote closely to his body, as if at any moment someone might try and take it away from him, and HE WILL NOT GIVE IT UP. He is the male of the species, after all.
I may have previously mentioned he also likes to play his own music in the boombox, which he has completely taken over. he DJ's out on the porch with his own group of CD's, constantly changing songs, adjusting the volume, replaying favorites, and yes, pausing to go to the bathroom. He knows on any given piece of electronic equipment, there is a forward arrow to play, a double back arrow for rewind, a dot for stop, and his favorite, the double line for pause.
Also, this child? Who hates to go shopping, even to the grocery store? Loves to go to Best Buy. I rest my case.
PS - As I'm typing this, he just started over the Go Diego Go! episode they were watching, because he wasn't interested in what was coming on next. Gah.
